Quarterly Safety Award

Each Quarter, Peck & Hiller recognizes one of our many skilled, and talented employees that has specifically demonstrated their commitment to creating and maintaining a safe workplace.

The Peck & Hiller employee we've chosen to recognize this quarter is Tim Gilbreth.

Tim has been working for Peck & Hiller Company for the past 13 years. He started serving his carpenter apprenticeship with us and graduated to Journeyman status within four years. One year later he was selected to become one of Peck and Hillers' well-respected Superintendents and has served in that role for the past 8 years. He has gained much valuable experience over those years. Here are some quotes from Tim about how he personally views Safety.

"Safety is obviously always a high priority. My experience through the years has made me very aware of close calls and the impact they have on educating everyone on how dangerous our work can be if we are not 100% focused on our tasks we are given. Close calls really open your eyes as to what can go wrong!”

Crews working under Tim's supervision have worked for 467 straight days without a recordable injury. Tim's previous record before that was 311 straight days.

Like the manager of a good baseball team, Tim believes in finding the right chemistry for his players. He has an open door policy and encourages ideas from his crews in discussions with them. Tim says, “When we feel that we have input into our jobs, we all feel better about our work because now we own it.”

Tim was born and raised in the San Jose area and moved to Turlock 6 years ago. He and his wife Michelle have three children, Zach, Chase and Jordyn. His hobbies include coaching youth baseball and working on classic cars. He is currently working on restoring a 58' Chevy and an 86' Chevrolet pickup truck.

Congratulations Tim on your accomplishments!! All of us here at Peck & Hiller are proud and grateful to be able to work with you on a daily basis!
